FAQ’s

I’ve never exercised before, do I need to be fit to participate?

Absolutely not! The idea of the training sessions is for you to get fit, you certainly don’t need to worry about not being fit enough to join in.

I am quite overweight, will I be able to do the activities?

Definitely. The activities are wide and varied and everything can be taken at your own level. All the activities have low impact alternatives, which you will be encouraged to take until you are comfortable enough to take it up a notch! In the group sessions we have absolute beginners along with people who have been coming for a while, so hence are more fit – but everyone is very welcoming & friendly so there is no need whatsoever for you to panic or feel intimidated about joining in.

How long are the sessions?

Each group session goes for one hour, but never fear, if you’re worried about being able to last for an hour, you’re able to take as many rest breaks as you need. Individual sessions can be either 30 mins, 45 mins or 60 mins.

Where are the sessions held?

Some sessions are held at the studio in Narre Warren South, others are held on location at various parks and ovals around Berwick & Narre Warren. For example Strathaird Reserve in Narre Warren South, Max Pawsey Reserve in Narre Warren and Arch Brown Reserve in Berwick. Occasionally sessions will be held at the beach in Seaford for something different. Individual training sessions (one-on-one or groups of 2-4) can be held at the studio or at any other suitable location near you.

What do the children do at the Mums & Bubs sessions?

The children basically play in & around us. They will never be far out of your sight, so it’s a great way to exercise & not have to pay for childcare! They often play with the fitballs or with little plastic dumbbells (some kids want to be like the grown ups!) or on the rebounders, or they are welcome to bring along as many toys as they like to keep themselves occupied. They also have each other to play with!

What do I wear to the sessions and should I bring anything?

In a nutshell, whatever you’re comfortable in. Depending on the weather, you could wear tracksuit pants, shorts or leggings with a t-shirt, singlet or jumper. You should always bring a bottle of water & a towel – the towel will come in handy for wiping up any possible sweat, and sometimes you may need to lay on grass etc so a towel is a good way to protect your clothes & keep you dry. Mind you it’s often fun to end up covered head to toe in mud!

What happens if it rains?

You get wet! The only time a session will be cancelled is if there is lightening. So sessions will run rain, hail or shine! All the locations we go to have undercover protection from the sun & rain if need be, but if you get wet, no big deal – hopefully everyone has a shower at home!

How long will it take to see results?

That depends on many things – how many times per week you’re exercising, how much effort you put into each session and what your diet consists of. Obviously if you train 3 or more times a week you will see results much more quickly than if you only exercised once a week. Though even if you exercise every day, then go home & eat more calories than you just burnt off, then you’ll struggle to see results. If you can exercise regularly and follow a healthy eating plan, in no time at all you’ll notice your clothes becoming quite loose!
